Restorative Dentistry in Waukegan

Thanks to advances in modern dentistry, when teeth are damaged, there are many options for dental restoration. When it comes to repairing, worn, decayed, damaged or missing teeth and restoring your healthy, functional and beautiful smile, the team at Waukegan Family Dental will provide the best care available.

We offer the following restorative treatments:

  • Dental Bridges: A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Bridges can be supported by natural teeth on both ends of the missing teeth, by implants which have been surgically placed in the jaw, or by a combination of these methods. A traditional bridge is made by placing crowns on the teeth on either side of the space and placing prosthetic teeth between the crowns. The new teeth “bridge” the gap where the space used to be. Traditional bridges are made either of porcelain fused to metal (PFM) or ceramics.
  • Crowns: A crown is “cap” that is placed over a tooth. The crown restores your tooth to normal shape, size, and function. A crown protects a tooth, makes it stronger and improves the way it looks. Crowns are used when there is a cavity that is too large for a traditional filling, a tooth that is cracked or weakened, to protect a tooth after root canal treatment, or to cover a misshaped tooth.

  • Dentures: Dentures are false teeth attached to a gum-colored base. After tooth loss, they can provide the appearance and function of natural teeth.
  • Bonding and White Fillings: Tooth-colored fillings can be used to treat cavities and decay. The same bonding material is also an excellent option for bonding small chips and other cosmetic issues.
